Survivors Group

Are you caring for a survivor of trauma with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia? Do you feel overwhelmed at times or have feelings of anxiety, guilt, anger, and helplessness,?  One way to deal with such feelings is to find a place where you can talk to other people who understand what you are going through.  Join a support group and find other people who will listen without judgment, who you can confide in without fear.

Support groups provide opportunities for survivors of trauma with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia and their caregivers to share their experiences and receive inspiration, guidance and support. Support groups help caregivers and survivors learn more about the trauma and dementia as well as understand the feelings about how dementia affects our daily lives.

Support groups offer a safe haven for people to share their feelings, talk through issues, develop coping strategies, and learn about community resources. Support groups link survivors, caregivers, family and friends of  survivors of trauma with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias with others to provide information and support.

Groups are open to people who are trauma survivors or involved with the care and support a family member with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Group leaders are experienced in answering the questions and concerns of new caregivers.  We offer a variety of groups including, in person, by telephone, and virtually to fit your needs.
