Memory Café

Memory cafés are another way people with memory loss and their loved one are coming together for a light meal or snack, enjoy some entertainment, make new friendships, and support one another. At a memory café, people can relax and just be themselves, knowing that no one judges them. At a memory café everyone there is going through almost the same things that you go through every day.  A memory café has no real agenda or purpose except to enjoy each other’s company and help you and your care partner stay connected – the focus is on having fun and being together.

Cafés are open to people who are involved with the care and support of the family member with Alzheimer’s  disease and other dementias. The Caring for Caregivers Café is offered at no cost. It is supported by a grant from the New York State Department of Health. Each café is different. We offer cafés on a variety of days and times to fit your schedule.
