Workshops on Trauma and Dementia for Families

Are you a caregiver to a survivor of trauma with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia? Would you like to have a better understanding of trauma and the dementia disease process? We can help! The Hope and Healing Program offers a variety of workshops designed to give caregivers education about their loved ones’ disease and offer helpful tips and strategies to make their difficult job as caregiver a little bit easier.

Our workshops will help you to understand trauma, memory loss, and how to live with survivors with dementia. Caregivers will learn how to connect with their loved one, assess behaviors, respond appropriately, evaluate what works and to share with others. Upon completion of the program, families will have a better understanding of trauma and dementia and what their loved one may be experiencing. Caregivers will also gain a sense of comfort and confidence when caring for their loved one.

Workshops sessions are offered throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties at convenient times and locations.

Do you have difficulty leaving your loved one and want to attend one of our workshops? We can help organize care for your family member so that you can attend this valuable training. We also workshops online for caregivers to access from the comfort of their home.

Our staff are able to answer any questions you may have.
